Cemil is an economist with over 15 years experience of commodity market regulation. He has worked for EDF Trading since January 2008 where he heads up the regulatory team, responsible for gas, power, carbon and financial regulation across the EU. He is also chair of EFET’s Project Group Transparency which leads on transparency issues in the gas sector and co-chairs EFET’s task force on financial regulation. He previously worked for Ofgem (the UK Energy regulator) for 12 years in a number of different roles including Head of Price Control Reviews and Head of European Gas Strategy. As part of this latter position he took a leading role in the work of the European Regulators for Electricity and Gas (ERGEG) including on the 3rd Energy Package and Regional Initiatives.
